Group Business Analyst
As a Business analyst you will own the translation of Business requirements into changes in various systems and configurations. The role of the Business Analyst is key in making sure that IT solutions can be re-used, that best practices are being followed and that complexity is kept to a minimum.
About the role
BME is a leading European building material distributor that is on the lookout for a Business analyst to join the IT Shared Service Center in the Netherlands. BME is in the process of defining its best of breed solutions and ERP roadmap and is on the lookout for a self-starting business savvy technologist to bridge the gap between our current processes and systems and the future state that BME group should move to. The Business analyst does so by bridging the gap between technology and business and by making sure that projects re-use various solutions that have been developed for specific markets. You will be joining a seasoned team of ERP specialists, Azure integration specialists and infrastructure engineers with great knowledge of the BME markets and business processes. We are actively looking for new talent to feed the team with new insights and relevant market trends when it comes to Azure Cloud and Integration services, Microsoft based ERP development and Best of Breed solutions surrounding the ERP ecosystem.
Role description
As a Business analyst you will own the translation of Business requirements into changes in various systems and configurations. The role of the Business Analyst is key in making sure that IT solutions can be re-used, that best practices are being followed and that complexity is kept to a minimum. The Business Analyst does so by creating a functional understanding of a process and converting that into a technical configuration or requirements – including technical designs- for a technical solution that needs to be developed by various development teams. In this process the Business Analyst continually weighs the introduction of new features against process best practices, standard templates, re-usable solutions and available group wide best of breed solutions in- and outside of the ERP.
Key characteristics of the Business Analyst include:
- Understanding of end to end business processes and the influence of technology on these processes;
- Savviness to convert business requirements into re-usable technical solutions and technical designs;
- Ability to validate that delivered technical solutions meet desired functional requirements
- Ability to adjust the message to the audience at hand.
The Business analyst ensures that a holistic view is kept on the various solutions in the BME environment and that this environment is tailored to mee BME’s Business and IT strategy.

Education and Experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in developing add-ons and customizations in a diverse IT landscape over multiple countries;
- Experience in converting business requirements into technical capabilities or development of features
- Understanding of modern software development and software development workflows, including basic knowledge of Devops;
- Understanding of continuous integration and the role of continuous integration in the software lifecyle;
- Knowledge of cloud, cloud computing and cloud native services;
- A degree in computer science or relevant real world experience in creating distributed solutions and connections to and from an ERP;
- Proficient in Dutch and English;
- Nice to have is experience in ERP modernization projects;
- Nice to have is an understanding of the Microsoft Powerapps landscape and capabilities
- Nice to have is experience in setting up and managing the Atlassian toolsuite.
