Group Category Manager NPR
We are looking for a well-rounded and experienced Procurement professional with sound business acumen, data and people driven leader and decision maker. You can lead and drive the execution of the regional category management agenda. In conjunction with the teams in the Operating Companies (OpCo’s) you will make category plans, align the countries and together you will achieve the saving as well as the ESG objectives in the relevant categories.

Introduction
We are looking for a well-rounded and experienced Procurement professional with sound business acumen, data and people driven leader and decision maker. You can lead and drive the execution of the regional category management agenda. In conjunction with the teams in the Operating Companies (OpCo’s) you will make category plans, align the countries and together you will achieve the saving as well as the ESG objectives in the relevant categories. Savings are important but good working relations with the business is evident. You are a dedicated and engaged partner who strongly engages with both the business and the European procurement organization to enhance collaboration and obtaining the regional procurement objectives. As a person you are warm and have a connecting personality.
Purpose of the Role
Ensures that BME sources clearly specified products and services in the relevant category at the best possible TCO as well ESG targets. The category manager ensures that BME fulfills its contractual obligations and other commitments towards its suppliers and vice versa. Participates in all relevant commercial discussions with suppliers related to specific products (within own area). Owns and drives regular business review meetings with suppliers. Drives multiple source qualifications and provides price provisioning on product level during budgeting / business case phase. Drives the energy agenda of BME.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manages assigned category in regions by leading cross-functional and cross-regional team
- Accountability for results at regional level
- Act as interface with countries (communications to countries and from the countries will be done through the Regional Category Manager)
- Responsible for implementing category strategy on OpCo/Business level
- Tailor category strategy to needs of Division, define Division priorities and align priorities with countries
- Collection of needs from OpCo’s including data for benchmarking
- Executes multi local initiatives (e.g. tenders)
- Lead Country Category Manager with country or regional processes
- Develop and manage relationship with key suppliers in the category
- Drive the realization of savings, efficiency, quality, and process improvements
- Make use & link with the Blackstone procurement group who has established global contracts

Education and Experience
- Business professional with 8+ year experience working with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment, preferably with background in NPR
- Educated to degree level – Business or Technical, Master will be an advantage
- Eight years Procurement experience in international setting, three years People Management experience
- Experience in managing a regional category in a large complex matrix organization with internationals OpCo’s
- A stable career track with clear career progression within a limited number of employers
- Experience with working in an international and matrix environment
- Eager and ambitious with the ability to go at least one level up
- Fluent in English and ideally in German, Dutch or French as well; at equal qualification diversity criteria will apply in the final selection process
