The company

BME is one of Europe’s leading multi-specialist distributors of building products with leadership positions across the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, and Portugal. We employ more than 12,000 employees, working across more than 800 locations with revenues of EUR 4.6B in 2021.

Through our B2B distribution platform we connect our large supplier base to our more than 275,000 customers, focusing particularly on small and medium-sized contractors and installers who are active in the residential and renovation end-markets.

Our multi-specialist building and service offering of more than 1 million products provides our customers with reliable, time-critical solutions and value-added services through a dense branch network operating under trusted well-known local brands and supported by an experienced, specialist workforce.

We firmly believe that we need to enable the transition to a more sustainable way of building. Sustainability is therefore at the heart of how we operate; from how we manage our business to how we work with our customers and suppliers.

The journey

BME’s Group Digital Team leads the company’s digital acceleration by building BME’s Digital backbone, consisting of an Azure based Data Platform, a Master Data Management solution and a suite of Advanced Analytics solutions.
