Purpose of the Role

• Due to the clear strategy to accelerate growth through M&A we are looking for a Group Manager Post-Merger Integration (PMI). In this challenging role you are building the Center of Excellence from scratch.

• With an ambition growth agenda this has led to a solid deal flow in existing markets (Saint Gobain Distribution Netherlands, Detering), to completely new markets (Isolana) or a mix of both (Mahler). This is expected to continue in the years ahead.

• All these acquisitions require a professional and speedy integration to:

– Maximise synergy capture also within short time-frame

– Balance other priorities (new acquisitions and current Together We Build + Acceleration)

• The type, volume and size of acquisitions requires various levels of effort and involvement at BME-Group and OpCo level.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design a Post-Merger Integration playbook (approach) for specific functional area.
  • Capture integration value/achieve goals and coordinate projects and priorities.
  • Serve as single point of contact for the new acquired company as well as its peer functional leads.
  • Communicate status, progress, risks ad recommended next steps.
  • Work collaboratively, proactively with functional leaders to ensure organizational success.
  • Train and coach peers on key business processes.
  • Escalate integration related issues within his/her function.
  • Support project synergy, communication planning and execution and individuals from project to project.
  • Providing service excellence by identifying the new company acquired business issues, determining new company needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches, evaluating and validating analysis and developing recommendations for the new company in the context of the overall engagement
  • Depending on the deal size, Managing Directors may lead the entire IMO or a focus area within the Integration Management Office (IMO) – Synergies, TSAs, Blueprinting, Day 1 Readiness, Executive Reporting, Integration Roadmap, Communications, Organizational Design
  • Leading and delivering large, complex new company engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions
  • Providing interim functional management as required
  • Leading Day 1 and Day 100 Planning, execution and driving performance improvement in key areas:
  • Strategic planning
  • Operational optimization /consolidation
  • Back office consolidation
  • Supply chain
  • IT / reporting integration
  • Customer and channel management
  • Actively driving performance improvement assessments, across an enterprise, and overseeing the implementation of recommendations.
  • Tracking progress against Day 1 and Day 100 objectives and adjusting integration strategies or personnel as required
  • Implementing and overseeing the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Participate in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities.
  • Able to lead small engagements or components of large, complex engagements.

Education and Experience

  • Business professional with 10+ years professional experience, specialised in post-merger integration, business transformation and change management
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders in a corporate complex environment, preferably with background in PE
  • Experience in integration planning and divestitures a plus, but not required
  • Experience in leading one or more work streams in a business transformation
  • Deep functional expertise in several of the following areas:
  • Finance & Accounting operations
  • HR / Organizational design
  • Role and Job Analysis
  • Leadership and Stakeholder Involvement
  • Communications planning and management
  • Supply Chain / Operations
  • Salesforce effectiveness
  • Marketing optimization

  • Program management and leadership experience
  • Specific experience designing and leading the execution of internally-focused and externally-focused change/communications strategies
  • A stable career track with clear career progression within a limited number of employers
  • Experience with working in an international and matrix environment
  • Eager and ambitious with the ability to go at least one level up
  • Fluent in English and ideally in German, Dutch or French as well; at equal qualification diversity criteria will apply in the final selection process
