BME Group acquires HeiMö, adding to its presence in central-eastern Germany

BME Group (BME) and the shareholders of HeiMö GmbH & Co. KG have reached an agreement on the sale of HeiMö, a distributor of Sanitary, Heating and Plumbing (SHAP) products as well as tiles. BME Group is one of the leading Sanitary, Heating and Plumbing distributors in northern Germany, operating under the SHK brand. This acquisition expands its footprint into central-eastern Germany.

HeiMö operates two branches with showrooms in Wittenberg and Dessau, located south-west of Berlin (Saxony Anhalt). The acquisition allows BME Group to serve additional customers in Saxony-Anhalt and will be facilitated via BME Group’s new central warehouse in the Berlin area. HeiMö was founded in 1990 and employs a total of 42 people. The company is owned by a group of five shareholders, among them CEO Christian Töpfer who will continue to lead the business and will support the integration into SHK.

BME is one of Europe’s leading building material distribution companies and active in the distribution of building materials in Germany under the brands BAUKING, Mahler, and Gebhardt (General Building Materials) as well as SHK (Sanitary, Heating & Plumbing Materials).

SHK is headquartered in Kiel and operates a network of 125 branches and 30 showrooms under the well established brands SHK | Paulsen, SHK | Bergmann & Franz, and SHK | Detering. SHK employs currently over 1,700 employees.

The acquisition of HeiMö is the 8th acquisition in Germany since BME became an independent company in 2019, and the 30th acquisition across the Group.
