Our governance framework

Managing our business responsibly begins with a robust governance framework. BME is governed under a two-tier board structure consisting of the Supervisory Board, with five members, and the Management Board, with two members. We strive to be seen as honest and trustworthy by all our stakeholders, and we comply with local and international laws and regulations across all the markets in which we operate. Our compliance policies ensure accountability and integrity in our day-to-day operations.

All employees sign our Code of Business Conduct and are given regular training covering human and labor rights, environmental responsibility, anti-corruption, bribery, and data security. We require our business partners to meet the standards set out in our Supplier Code of Conduct.

Our Organizational Structure

BME Group operates through eleven operating companies, each serving a specific region or customer group, with its own local management. This structure ensures accountability and enables our teams to act swiftly on local market opportunities – supported by the know-how, financial strength, and digital capabilities of the Group. Since November 2019, BME has been owned by Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager.

Our Management

BME is led by its Executive Management Team, which is made up of the two members of the Management Board (Group CEO and Group CFO), together with six managing directors of the larger operating companies, as well as the Group Senior Vice Presidents of HR, Operations, Strategy & Development, and Digital & IT. Our Executive Management Team combines deep industry expertise with hands-on experience from a wide range of sectors, ensuring we have the right leaders to grow BME profitably and responsibly.
