Opening Oberkrämer Distribution Center marks a Milestone

On May 6th BME’s brand new distribution center in Oberkrämer was opened festively. The event – with the presence of Remco Teulings (CEO of BME), Frans Hartong (Managing Director SHK) and the entire SHK management team – marked a major step forward for the logistical infrastructure of the larger Berlin region.

The inauguration ceremony not only celebrated the completion of the state-of-the-art facility but also the start of the distribution operations with the official ‘Go-Live’. The inaugural first delivery departed from the new distribution center to replenish products to a number of SHK | SHOPS across the region.

Months of preparation, testing, and drawing from the insights gained from previous experiences in Seevetal/Hamburg resulted in a seamless ‘Go-Live’. The transition from the old logistics hub in Blumberg to the advanced purpose-built facility in Oberkrämer is expected to span four months, ensuring a smooth transfer of all operations to the new distribution center.

The opening of the Oberkrämer logistics center represents BME’s continuous drive to leverage its leading scale and to ensure an excellent service to its customers.
