Wood continues to gain momentum across the construction industry – from carpentry to interior design. Versatile, strong, insulating, and timeless, it remains one of the most sustainable and contemporary materials available today.

Innovating for the future

As a leader in construction wood in French-speaking Switzerland, BMS Suisse, together with its subsidiary Gétaz-Miauton, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Wood Competence Centre in Bulle (Fribourg) in 2024. This new facility represents a major step forward in our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.

Spanning 12,000 m² of floor space with 1.6 km of aisles, the centre offers 100,000 m³ of storage divided by two firewalls, a next-generation vacuum dryer, and a cutting hall equipped with a five-axis CNC machine for precision cutting and drilling.

From raw wood to custom, ready-to-assemble products, the central wood warehouse is designed to handle up to 200 orders per day, ensuring fast and reliable delivery throughout Switzerland – all while maintaining responsible, deforestation-free sourcing.

Constructed using a local Swiss Wood Label structure, the building’s walls are insulated, and the halls are heated in winter through a district heating ventilation system. Covered in solar panels, the centre is energy-positive, producing more power than it consumes.
