BME acquires Huijskes-Boevink to further strengthen its ironmongery activities in the Netherlands

The acquisition enables BME to further strengthen its branch network of ironmongery in the east of the Netherlands where it operates under the BMN brands.

On 15 March 2023, BME Group (BME) and Huijskes-Boevink have reached an agreement on the sale of their ironmongery activities to BME. The acquisition enables BME to further strengthen its branch network of ironmongery in the east of the Netherlands where it operates under the BMN brands.

Huijskes-Boevink is a family owned ironmongery merchant in Groenlo in the eastern part of the Netherlands. Huijskes-Boevink is a member of Zevij Necomij and the company is owned by Mr and Mrs Boevink who will both retire after a hand-over period.

BMN is market leader in the Netherlands, with over 120 general building merchant locations and an increasing number of dedicated specialist branches for ironmongery.

The acquisition of Huijskes-Boevink is the 6th acquisition in the Netherlands since BME became an independent company in 2019, and the 29th acquisition across the Group.

Financial details of the transaction will not be disclosed.
