BME Group (BME) and the shareholders of Bouwpunt Van der Gucht have reached an agreement on the sale to BME. Van der Gucht is a distributor of building materials located in Temse. The acquisition enables BME to densify its General Builders’ Merchant network in Flanders which is operated under the BMB Bouwmaterialen brand.

Van der Gucht is a family business with a very loyal customer base and employs 40 employees. The company was owned by the 2nd generation siblings Christophe and Kathy van der Gucht, who will both stay with the business and take on roles within the BMB Bouwmaterialen organisation.

BME is one of Europe’s leading distribution companies in building materials and active in Belgium under the brands ‘BMB Bouwmaterialen’ (General Building materials) and ‘STG’ (Sanitary, Heating and Plumbing materials) formerly known as ‘Sax, Lambrechts and Schrauwen’.
