BME Group expands footprint in Belgium with the acquisition of Bridts

On 2 November 2021, BME Group closed the acquisition of Bridts, active in the sales of general building materials (GBM) and trading under the name ‘Gedimat Antwerp’. With this bolt-on acquisition, BME Group further strengthens its collect network in the province of Antwerp as part of the BMB Bouwmaterialen operations.

Bridts offers a broad portfolio of building materials having delivered strong growth in collect sales at their site in Aartselaar. Bridts employs 17 people and the owner of the company – Mr. Vincent van Genechten – will remain involved in the business post-closing.

BME is one of Europe’s leading distribution companies in building materials and active in Belgium under the brands ‘BMB Bouwmaterialen’ (General Building materials) and ‘STG’ (Sanitary, Heating and Plumbing materials) formerly known as ‘Sax, Lambrechts and Schrauwen’.

BMB Bouwmaterialen, based in Antwerp, will have a network of 11 locations in Flanders by year end and it is established there for more than 40 years.
